The Internet’s first online casino has revealed a new look for its website home page today, alongside a fresh new slogan which greets visitors with the phrase: ‘Welcome to the Extraordinary’.

InterCasino started trading in 1996 and has had several reinventions over the years but this facelift looks set to be the most dramatic yet. Out goes the crown style logo that has served the business well for more than a decade and in comes a lime green diagonal flash on a black background with a transitional serif.

Stylish icons are set against a transitional serif font and the colour scheme continues on the InterCasino poker site. As of now, the new look only applies to the online casino’s website. The casino room itself client retains its former styling.

The new look will be backed by a television advertising campaign and ‘a string of the most extraordinary prizes the industry has ever seen’, according to an InterCasino spokesman.

The re-imagining is described by InterCasino as a ‘bold new look’ and has been created by brand consultants Michael Peters & Partners, who are ‘at the forefront of brand thinking’,

“We believe the best and most imaginative brands will continue to win the most business...not by being the biggest or oldest or by being the sleekest or shiniest, but by listening to their customers and surprising them with new ideas. That's where we're able to help.  We are acutely aware of the challenges created by the turbulent financial marketplace, but we know that tomorrow's successful brands will be born today,” said a spokesman for the agency.

Reaction from casino lovers has been generally positive. “I love it,” said 51-year-old traffic warden Chris Sparrow, from Cleethorpes. “It looks very modern and rather cool. I’ve been a huge fan of InterCasino since it started in 1996 and I think this is the best it has ever looked.

Leo Cullen, a former bingo caller and nightclub entertainer thought the new look should extend through to actual game itself. “I like the new look on the homepage but - to be perfectly honest – I generally just head straight for the casino when I play online.

“I think it stands out from the crowd and is certainly eye-catching. I hope they don’t completely get rid of the old crown logo though as I had got used to that,” he said.
